The Ole, a Lapworth 36, suffered a serious collision during a Master Mariners race. The stem and most of the attached planks were badly fractured or crushed.

The picture on the left shows the boat with the damaged stem removed. Portions of the planks will also need to be cut back.

On the right we see the new stem being fabricated.

The new stem has been installed, but the forward section of most of the planks will have to be cut back.

In the picture below the new planks restore the hull to its original shape.
